Again... RUGS!!! Go to a local market or something and try to find really big decorative mirrors... they open the room up and make a great statement. Also.... any local vases or pottery would look good in corners on the floor (you can put some bamboo shoots or some sticks in them).... and any big plants (I prefer fake ones)... really make a room more homey.
